July 2026 · Kinshasa, DRC

Come and
do the work.

Every July, Mission Sowers puts a team on the ground in Kinshasa. 31 days. Real work, alongside the people who already know what needs doing. We don't bring solutions. We bring hands.

July 2026

What the trip looks like.

The July 2026 trip is the installation month for the Ceprokin pilot. Our team will be on the ground in Kinshasa for the full 31 days, working alongside Sekani Tech on the solar installation, Hope Drill on the borehole, and our DRC coordination team on logistics, apprenticeship enrolment, and site documentation.

This is not a sight-seeing trip with a project attached. It is a working month. Days are long. The environment is demanding. The work is physical, administrative, relational, and sometimes frustrating. If you go in expecting to "do good" and come home with a good feeling, this is probably not the right trip for you.

If you go in expecting to show up, take direction from local experts, do what needs doing, and learn things that will change how you think — that is exactly what this trip delivers.

You don't need to be a charity professional. You need to be reliable, flexible, and willing to work in proximity to people whose lives look nothing like yours.

What we need

Four roles.
All essential.

We don't take unlimited volunteers. We take the people we need, doing the work the pilot requires.

Project Coordination

You will help coordinate logistics, scheduling, and communications between local partners, suppliers, the apprenticeship enrolment team, and the MS field team. You should be organised, calm under pressure, and comfortable managing complexity across language barriers. Experience in project management or field logistics is helpful.

Skills Facilitation

You will support the delivery of the apprenticeship training programme. We are not asking you to run the training — local providers do that. We need someone who can liaise with trainers, support cohort enrolment, monitor attendance, and help troubleshoot when practical issues arise. Background in education, training, or youth work is a strong plus.

Installation Oversight

You will work alongside Sekani Tech and Hope Drill during the solar and borehole installations. This is not a technical role — Sekani Tech and Hope Drill bring the expertise. You are the bridge between the installation crews and the MS team: keeping communication open, flagging issues, and ensuring documentation of each stage. Practical, physical comfort in construction environments is essential.

Documentation

Photography, video, and written field notes are the raw material for our annual report, donor updates, the gala presentation, and our institutional memory. We need someone with a good eye, good writing, and the patience to document ordinary moments as well as milestone ones. Experience in journalism, photography, or content creation is helpful. Willingness to be discreet and respectful in sensitive environments is non-negotiable.

What you get

We can't pay you.
But we can give you this.
